asked over every fence, in every language, forever —

“What's happening
for dinner & around you?”

MEZZE is how neighborhoods answer. Post what you're cooking, what you're craving, or how you can help — and people thirty feet away respond. No delivery fleet. No strangers. Just your street, eating better together.

Cook Crave Care

Free for residents. Communities are going live — your community next.

“Not a food app. A community app
disguised as a food app.”

— the whole idea, in one line
How it works

Three verbs. That's the app.

Every post on MEZZE starts with one of three moods. Tap the one you're in — the neighborhood takes it from there.

COOK

Your kitchen made more than your table needs. Share extra portions, host a dinner, teach a dish — or answer someone's craving.

CRAVE

Wanting something is a contribution too. Post a craving and watch neighbors pile on with “me too” — until someone cooks it.

CARE

A ride to the clinic, tech help for a neighbor, an ingredient across the hall. Small acts of showing up — for and by the street.

A day on MEZZE

Small acts, all day long.

Nothing here is heroic. That's the point — a neighborhood runs on small, easy kindnesses that take a minute each.

7:40 AM
Romir posts a market run
“Going to market.” Three households ask for pickups — milk, curry leaves, bread. One trip instead of four.
12:15 PM
Someone posts a craving: idli
Two neighbors tap “me too.” Now it's not a craving — it's a request with an audience.
4:30 PM
A borrowed stockpot changes hands
Kiran needs a large pot for biryani. Romir has one. A doorstep handoff, ten seconds flat.
6:42 PM
Priya shares dinner
“Vegetable soup, 4 bowls available.” Reserved in eleven minutes. Nothing wasted, everyone fed.

Community Dinner on the Clubhouse Lawn
18 going and counting. Everyone brings a dish; nobody brings a wallet.
…and that's how neighbors become neighbors again.
Where it began

It started as a letter, not a pitch deck.

Before a single screen was designed, MEZZE was an open letter pinned to a community noticeboard — a note from one neighbor to the rest, about the strange distance between apartments thirty feet apart.

The app is just that letter, made tappable.

Hyper-local by design
Your feed is your community — not a city, not a region. People you can walk to.
Verified residents only
Every member belongs to the community. No anonymous accounts, no outsiders.
Kindness, counted
Every meal shared and errand run earns karma — a quiet record of being a good neighbor.
An open letter
to my neighbors —

We live thirty feet apart, and we have never shared a meal.

Someone on the third floor makes curry that smells like a memory. Someone downstairs bought too many tomatoes. Someone just moved in and doesn't know where the good vegetable cart stops. Someone upstairs could use a ride to the clinic on Tuesday. Someone across the hall is figuring out a new phone alone.

Every kitchen on this street cooks alone, wants alone, runs its errands alone — solving the same small problems behind different doors.

So here is a small proposal: cook when your kitchen is generous. Crave out loud when it isn't. Care for each other in the in-between — a spare pot, a market run, an hour of company, a ride, the empty seat at the table.

Food was never meant to be a private matter. Neither was a hard afternoon. Both bring us together. Let's make it everyday.

Trust, built slowly

Kindness has a scoreboard.

Every bowl shared, ingredient lent, and market run completed earns karma — MEZZE's quiet record of neighborly goodness. It never buys anything. It just tells the street who shows up.

New members start as Newcomers and grow into Pillars of the community, one small act at a time. Trust isn't claimed here — it's earned in soup bowls.

On purpose

Everything MEZZE refuses to be.

The most important product decisions were the things we left out.

no. 1

No delivery fleet

Nothing travels farther than a neighbor can walk. The last mile here is a staircase, not a scooter.

no. 2

No strangers

Every profile is a verified resident of your community. You're not meeting the internet — you're meeting the third floor.

no. 3

No marketplace

No listings, no pricing, no hustle. MEZZE runs on generosity and karma — the oldest economy on any street.
